Guidance Documents on Monitoring Peatland Restoration Projects
Monitoring is an important element of all peatland restoration projects to enable progress to be assessed. Several peat project workshops identified a demand for technical guidance on monitoring techniques. In response, Natural England commissioned this study to:
- Review the range of peatland restoration monitoring techniques available.
- Identify those that were consistent, informative and easily applicable for peatland restoration budgets.
The review has now been published, along with a Technical Information Note aimed at helping peatland restoration projects set up monitoring programmes. PAA worked alongside the University of Liverpool and Moors for the Future in the preparation of these documents.
