PAA-Designed Wetland Scheme Awarded Ceritifcate of Excellence
A PAA-designed wetland scheme for Yorkshire Water has been recognised with an award by the Institution of Civil Engineering.
Clifton Integrated Constructed Wetland was awarded a Certificate of Excellence last week at the 167th annual Institution of Civil Engineering, Yorkshire and Humber Awards ceremony. The awards are made for civil engineering projects with a regional dimension in recognition of achievement, excellence or innovation in civil engineering.
Factors considered included value for money, impact on society, diversity and inclusion, sustainability, health safety and welfare, quality of design, innovation and best practice, difficulty and response, collaboration and excellence in delivery.
Clifton is the first Integrated Constructed Wetland that Yorkshire Water has developed – PAA carried out concept designs, scaling, planting plans, initial management plan and developed an on-site habitat creation scheme for the project, contracted by Stantec Ltd for Yorkshire Water, and then supported the contractor Barhale Doosan in the delivery of the scheme.
